How ranked works
Four ladders — Duel, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 — each with its own Elo rating starting at 1200, exactly like chess. Your 1v1 rating and your 4v4 rating are separate identities.

Multiplayer & ranked
Multiplayer is a stretch goal, not the Early Access promise. The single-player campaign comes first; ranked opens when it is ready, and we build it in the open.
The queues
1v1 · Solo · Solo rating
2v2 · Team of 2 · Team rating
3v3 · Team of 3 · Team rating
4v4 · Team of 4 · Team rating
3–8 players · Solo · Unranked skirmish

Quarterly seasons, cosmetic rewards, and per-queue and global leaderboards.
Ranked runs async by default — commit your turn and walk away, and your opponent is pinged when it is their move. A match can span days. Live play is a toggle if you would rather finish in one sitting.
Every match saves a replay. Share it, study it turn by turn, or hand it to a tournament organiser as a tamper-proof record.
3–8 independent players, each with their own fleet. Unranked skirmish — FFA scoring is too messy for a ladder, so ranked stays head-to-head.
4v4, 2v2v2v2, 3v3v2. Your team shares one sensor picture — but everyone still commands their own fleet.
Every signal makes something ancient pay attention
